N4KGL RaDAR Rally Nov 2025

RaDAR is Rapid Deployment Amateur Radio. See www.radarrally.info. Tom WD0HBR and N4KGL did team RaDAR from Eastgate Park in Dothan, AL. We made four stops and walked one kilometer between them. We got five contacts at each stop, all on 20 meters with the FX-4CR rig and the Alexloop mag loop. The modes included SSB, FT-8, and CW. RaDAR is a great outdoor ham radio activity with some exercise to boot.

RaDAR is Rapid Deployment Amateur Radio conceived by Eddie Leighton ZS6BNE. RaDAR encourages outdoor operating with a unique challenge: make five contacts and redeploy as fast as possible in four hours. The RaDAR Challenge has become the RaDAR Rally with some rule tweaks.
